The plant

• Mid-late June bearing variety, a few days later than Elsanta
• High frost tolerance
• High yields (similar to Elsanta)
• Susceptible to wilt diseases (Verticillium), crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum) and root rot (Rhizoctonia)

The fruit

• Uniform in shape. Shiny, short and conical fruit
• Sonata has a sweet flavour and is juicier than Elsanta
• Better rain resistance and less prone to tearing than Elsanta
• Juicy, excellent flavour with a strong aroma
