Polka
The plant
- Mid-late variety
- High yields (similar to Elsanta)
- Good frost resistance and therefore widely used in Scandinavia
- The plants are susceptible to red stele root rot (Phytophthora fragariae) and moderately susceptible to crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum)
The fruit
- Polka fruit are shiny, have an intense dark red colour and are red on the inside
- The strawberries have a delicious, sweet-sour strawberry aroma
- Polka has an excellent flavour and the fruit are firm. The conical fruit are medium sized and gradually reduce in size
- Extremely suitable for making jam and fruit juice
- Polka is susceptible to fruit rot (Botrytis cincerea)
